Vattanac Bank Donates $1M to Covid-19 Vaccination Fund

Vattanac Bank donated US$1 million on 8 December 2020 to Prime Minister Hun Sen to support the Cambodian government’s fund raising campaign to buy Covid-19 vaccine.

This contribution was made after Prime Minister Hun Sen announced on 7 December 2020 that he would like to buy 20 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines for 10 million Cambodians, while in the first phase he needed only 1 million doses for vulnerable and high risk groups.  

Besides the US$1M - donation, Vattanac Bank has also launched Vattanac Covid-19 Vaccination Fund Drive to collect donations from customers and general public.  As of 14 December, it has collected around $149,000.   The campaign, inviting people to deposit to the Vattanac Covid-19 Vaccination Fund accounts, will continue until March 2021.    

The Bank has also promoted the government’s fund raising campaign through all its communication channels including Facebook, Telegram, What’s App, LED screen, ATM screen, etc.
